Good news! Three important bills that the ASPCA has been fighting for in California have finished their journeys through the State Legislature:
Assembly Bill 241, a.k.a. the Responsible Breeder Act, will limit the number of intact adult animals that pet-breeding facilities are permitted to own.Assembly Bill 1122 would prohibit the sale of animals on streets and in other public spaces. (It exempts legitimate adoption events.)Senate Bill 135 would prohibit the docking of cows’ tails. All that is required for each of these bills to become state law is Governor Schwarzenegger’s signature.
